The last recipe was too healthy, so here I come with a new one… one that may be a hazard for your health: the mrithail burger, hehehe.
Ingredients for the meat (2 people):
- 1/2 kg of ground beef meat.
- 1 egg.
- 1/4 cup of milk.
- 1/2 spoon of honey.
- 1 spoon of lemon juice.
- Garlic powder.
- Black pepper.
- Olive oil.
Ingredients for topping the burger (2 people):
- 2 burger buns.
- 2 slices of Edam cheese.
- 120 gr. of bacon.
- Sliced tomato.
- Sliced onion.
- Some roasted onion.
- Some lettuce.
Put the meat in a big bowl, and add the egg, the milk, the honey, the lemon juice, the oregano, the garlic powder, the black pepper and the salt. Then blend it slowly with the hands, until everything is completely mixed. Cover the bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Divide the meat into 2 portions (yeah, that’s 1/2 kg. per burger) and give them both the shape of a burger, taking into account that the diameter has to be longer than the one of the buns, for the meat will reduce its size when cooked. Then add some olive oil to the frying pan and cook the burgers. Notice that the burger is very thick, so if you cook it using a very high heat, the inside will remain raw. My tip is to begin to cook it in medium heat and then, when the inside is as you like it, rise to high heat to do a lot the exterior part. Also, during the process, remember to jab the meat several times with a fork.
Some minutes before the meat is ready, put the buns in the oven at 150-175ºC, until they begin to toast. Also, in another frying pan, cook the bacon (without oil).
Now, the only thing left is to build the burger… my recommendation is to put the lower bun, then the meat, the slice of Edam cheese, half of the bacon, the tomato and onion slices, the roast onion toppings and finally the lettuce. Then, in the lower part of the upper bun, plaster the sauces you want, like ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, garlic sauce, BBQ sauce, sour cream… it’s your choice!
If you feel really hungry, you can serve it also with some rice or French fries, but the truth is that there’s no real need to do that, as the burger, with this amount of ingredients, will be enough.
I ate a couple of hours ago (not the burgers, I made them yesterday), and just by having to write this down I’m feeling completely hungry again! I’m starving!
